Hello ballet lovers!

If you’re interested in starting to learn ballet, why not go and get inspired by watching the pro’s do it. This year for Christmas the Queensland Ballet are performing the beloved ‘Nut Cracker’ at QPAC in south bank. Even if you’ve seen the Queensland Ballet perform before, you won’t be any less blown away by the talent and exquisite art form before your eyes. With beautiful costumes, stage sets and of course the incredible dancers let’s see if you can even spot out some of the techniques you are learning right now! But hurry Ballerina’s as theres only a few tickets left! – Buy your tickets here!

But even if you can’t make it to see the show, luckily  you won’t completely miss out. The courier mail have organised a special screening at the Piazza  on the 21st of December. The Piazza will come alive with sparkling dance, stunning sets and costumes, bringing the enchanted production and its host of fanciful characters to life. There’s entertainment beforehand from 5pm with the screening at 6pm!

Help on double pirouettes

I am 11 years old. I am still absolutely terrible at doing double pirouettes and all of my friends can. I have tried very hard in class and I just can’t. Any tips? Also when and if I am able to do a pirouette, when can I go on pointe?

Thank you,
Josie

Help with pirouettes

I need help with the pirouettes because when I whip my head to look north, I fall off the pirouette and lose balance. How exactly should I whip my head or what can I do to not fall? I’m 12 and I started ballet when I was 3, but I stopped at 8 and I have 4 years without ballet even though I trained at home.

Thanks,
Ana
